The ABS (anti lock brake system) control unit
As part of the antilock brake system we find that the abs control unit is the brain behind the operation. The sensors located at the wheels will pick up and transmit to the abs control unit how much hydraulic pressure is needed on each wheel and it decreases or enhances that pressure as needed. Basic Function
The abs control unit is made up of 3 microcomputers. 2 of them are working processors, the 3rd as a monitor processor. The system switches off if there is a discrepancy in the data computed by the two working processors during operation of the car. The abs check control light will start to blink thus reading the fault. At this time the braking system is fully operational without the abs control unit.
