What is a Door Hinge?
A door hinge is the device that is used to connect your door to the main body of the vehicle. When the door is open there is a maximum limit placed on the hinge to prevent the door opening past a certain point. On certain sports models the hinges are attached so that the doors open upwards instead of most car doors that open outwards. The hinges are normally made out of steel as this needs to be a tough metal to provide safety. Depending on the model of your vehicle will depend on how many hinges you have connecting to the door. Most UK vehicles have 2 hinges connecting to the door. Sometimes you will have a small arm that will fit within the hinge.
