Nissan 350 Z Common Problems and Solutions
Squeaky seats
Problem:
It is known for the seats on the 350Z to make a squeaking noise.
Solution:
There was a service update made by Nissan for adjusting the seats. You should be able to have this done at a Nissan garage for free.

Problem:
If you have noticed that the handbrake is unable to hold the weight of the car, particularly on a hill, then you will need to adjust the handbrake cable.
Solution:

Engine management warning light
Problem:
If you have noticed that the engine management warning light has come on the dashboard then you most likely have a problem with the crankshaft position sensor. This is known to fail on these vehicles.
Solution:
Replacing the crankshaft position sensor will resolve the issue.

Boot problems
Problem:
There are known issues with the boot release catch and the struts which hold the boot open. The boot release problem is caused by a faulty spring mechanism and the struts can also fail, which means that they are not able to hold the weight of the boot.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement boot release catch or new struts, depending on which is the problem.

Paintwork chipping
Problem:
The Nissan 350Z is known for having weak paintwork. This is the case especially around the bumper, fuel filler cap and the bonnet areas. When the paint gets chipped it usually leads to rust.
Solution:
There is after-market protective film paint that you can use to touch up these areas. This should help resolve the issue.
