Vauxhall Agila Common Problems and Solutions
Incorrect Fuel Reading
Problem:
The fuel gauge is reading empty even though you have just filled the tank. The car seems to be driving fine, but occasionally the fuel level warning light flashes on.
Solution:
If you look inside your fuel tank, you'll see the fuel level sensor, which is likely to have burnt out or simply come to its end of life. Order a new sensor from our drop-down menu for the Agila and easily replace the faulty one.

Tight Gearstick
Problem:
The gear stick feels very tight and harder to move. It may stop going into the right gear, and sometimes the car won't turn off.
Solution:
The shift selector cable in your Agila has worn out and will need to be replaced. This can be a fiddly DIY job, but you'll easily find replacement cables in our online store, and a little patience will save you a big bill from a mechanic.

Clunking Sound On Uneven Surfaces
Problem:
You can hear a loud clunking noise when you drive over bumps or on uneven surfaces.
Solution:
This will be caused by a problem with your suspension bushes. Check them thoroughly, and there's a chance that you may be able to resolve the problem by simply applying plenty of grease. If there is damage, then you can find new bushes on the BreakerYard parts page for the Agila.
Difficulty level
Spongy Clutch
Problem:
The clutch feels spongy when you press it. It may also make a loud grinding noise or stay stuck to the floor.
Solution:
The clutch on the Agila is known to wear out at around 50,000 miles, which is not a lot of miles. There's not much that can be done about it other than replacing the entire clutch system. We always have clutch systems for the Agila in stock and can deliver your replacement quickly.
Difficulty level
Soft Brake Pedal
Problem:
The brake pedal has no tension, and the car takes a lot longer to stop.
Solution:
Water will corrode the brake master cylinder over time, and that leads to brake fluid leakage. Your only remedy is to order a new brake master cylinder from Breakeryard, install it, and then refill the brake system with plenty of fresh brake fluid.
