Land Rover’s first car was built by Brothers Spencer and Maurice Wilks for the British Car Company Rover in 1948, the Land rover was engineered to reach rural terrain in Britain that no other vehicle could.
Land rover was immensely popular from the word go. The vehicle was a work vehicle of choice for drivers of military, agricultural and Emergency services.
In 1970 Range Rover made its debut globally. Between 1958 and 1971 Land rover developed the shells of their vehicles and there appearance seemed more sculpted and also contained a larger and more powerful engine. They had a longer wheelbase which improved stability. The 60s was an excellent decade for Land Rover as they took the lead in the emerging market for 4-wheel drive vehicles.
Land Rover’s enhanced on and off road capabilities earned them a distinction in the endurance motor sports events including the Paris-Daker rally. 1987 saw the first U.S specification Range Rovers go on sale in the U.S, and also in the following year Land Rover unveils there popular Land Rover Discovery model.

Over the past 55 years, Land Rover has meticulously engineered eight iconic models. Today, Land Rover innovation is taking on bold new shapes and gaining rapid momentum. Over the next six years, Land Rover plans to release five new, groundbreaking models.
