Mazda CX-7 Common Problems and Solutions
Turbo failure
Problem:
The turbo on the CX-7 is prone to failure. If this part fails, the vehicle will struggle to accelerate and there will be a real lack of power. There will most likely be white smoke coming form the exhaust. Is the problem in the video anything like what you are experiencing?
Solution:
Replacing the turbo will fix the problem. We can help you find a replacement turbo at a very low price.

Seat trim breaking
Problem:
Has the trim between the base of the front seats and the floor broke on your CX-7? The clips on the trim are made of plastic and are easily broken. It is easy for people's feet to catch the the trim when getting in, or out the vehicle, causing the clips to break off and make the trim come loose.
Solution:
You will need to replace this trim to fix the problem.

EGR valve failure
Problem:
If the EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation) valves fail, it can lead to a lack of power when accelerating. The EGR valve gets blocked up, causing poor performance and you may also see a blue/black smoke coming from the exhaust. It can also lead to poor engine idling.
Solution:
You can remove the EGR valve and clean it out to remove the carbon build up. You will need a small brush (tooth brush) and some carb cleaner to clean it out. This should fix the problem. Watch the video below to see how this is done:

Door seal fault
Problem:
The door seals on the CX-7 are known for failing, which causes a creaking noise from the front doors when the vehicle is in motion.
Solution:
You will need to replace the door seals to fix the problem. If the vehicle is under warranty the issue will be covered, otherwise it is your responsibility to fix it.
