Starting on the 1st October and running until the 16th, the Paris Motor Show is described by Auto Express as “one of the biggest events of the motoring calendar”. But what is it and why is it such a big deal? Well, it’s a car show which takes place every other year. It’s in Paris (no surprises there) and one of the reasons it’s so majorly exciting is that it’s at the Paris Motor Show that many makes will unveil their latest models of cars. Ferrari is expected to present its new, already-sold-out LaFerrari convertible with the edgy name of Spider. Audi will be showing off their new Q5 SUV, Citroen have a new supermini on the cards, and BMW’s all-new X2 will also be on show. We’ll also get a look at a new Land Rover Discovery (Bear Grylls rearranged the seats while parachuting in the trailer for this one.) Watch here. And it’s not just new models which are being presented. The concept cars will be out in force too. VW will be showing an all-electric concept car and the Citroen CXPERIENCE, a petrol-engine and electric hybrid, is expected to be there too with some rather gorgeous yellow seats. Don’t think that sounds attractive? We beg to differ. Check them out here. Altogether, it’s a veritable feast of the latest drool-worthy cars and its happening in the one and only Paris. Tempted? You can get tickets to the show here for only €16 (not including flights or anything, obviously). And if you can’t afford to make it to Paris, you can always follow along on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Need new or used van/car parts at awesome prices? Get quotes from breakers across the UK.
