About Landing Slam Bodys
A Chevrolet landing slam body is an extremely important part of a motor vehicle’s construction that assists in minimising the damage that the vehicle might sustain in a front end collision. The Chevrolet landing slam body panel can be found beneath the vehicle’s bonnet. It is made up of a rigid metal cross section that extends across the front of the car. Its primary role is to protect the parts that are located in the engine compartment and at the front of the vehicle. It also has a secondary role in that the vehicle’s headlights and its front grille are also attached to it.
As with all metal car body parts the Chevrolet landing slam body is liable to damage and wear and tear through rusting. Although this type of damage can be minimised by keeping the part as clean as possible it will sometimes become necessary to replace it, especially if it is damaged in a collision. Although a replacement Chevrolet landing slam body may be relatively easily accessed from a motor parts supplier, because of the potential difficulty in fitting it and the importance that it plays in protecting various vital components of the vehicle, it may be prudent to have it professionally fitted by a qualified motor mechanic.
Chevrolet trivia
- The Camaro is one of the most recognised cars in the world, but it wasn't always called the Camaro. It was originally called The Panther, but Chevrolet wanted to go for a more family-friendly vibe.
- The weirdest Chevrolet experiment was the Chevrolet Turbo Titan II in 1965. This was the same year as the first US spacewalk, and the car has a real space theme happening. Most bizarrely, it didn't have a steering wheel and instead had two large dials so that it looked more like a games console controller or DJ desk than a car.
- The founder of Chevrolet held the speed world record before he built the Chevrolet Motor Car Company.
- The first Chevrolet was the iconic series C Classic Six. It sold for the very low price of just $2,150. That's about £1700 in proper money.
- The company might have his name, but Louis Chevrolet wasn't there for long. He'd previously worked as a mechanic for other car manufacturers, and would eventually go onto become a well-established race car driver for Buick.
