Citroen Nemo Multispace Common Problems and Solutions
Slow To Brake
Problem:
It's taking a long time for the vehicle to come to a complete stop.
Solution:
The Nemo Multispace is quite heavy, so that means the brake pads and discs will wear out more frequently than on lighter cars. This is very normal and just means that you'll have to order a brake pad and/or discs from BreakerYard and replace the worn ones.

Excessive Vibration When Steering
Problem:
The car vibrates excessively while driving, and there may be the occasional popping or banging noise when driving over bumps.
Solution:
The Nemo Multispace has a well-known problem with the front suspension top bearing, which is very prone to rapid wear. We always have replacements in our store, and you can easily install them yourself.

Non-Starting
Problem:
The car doesn't start when you turn the key to the on position, and there is no sound either.
Solution:
This could be a low or dead battery, so check the charge. If your battery is fine, then check the connection between the battery and the starter motor, which may have come loose. If there are no problems there either, then it's likely that the solenoid attached to the top of the starter motor has failed and you'll need to find a replacement on our parts list.

Dashboard Lights Aren't Working
Problem:
None of the lights on the dashboard are working.
Solution:
It's extremely likely that there is a battery problem. Double-check the connections between the battery and the electrical system and make sure that everything is connected. The battery terminals should look tight too. If everything looks good, then your battery is probably coming to its end of life, and you'll need to order a replacement from us.

The automatic gearboxes on the Nemo has known issues. These issues are known to be poor gear changes which are not very smooth and that are not in line with the revs. The actuator is the known part to fail on these gearboxes.
Solution:

Power steering failure
Problem:
The Citroen Nemo has fully electric power steering which is prone to failure. If you are finding that the steering is very heavy while you are driving, then the power steering motor is known to fail.
Solution:
Fitting a replacement power steering motor should solve the problem. This can be an expensive part to replace, but Breakeryard can help you find a cheap replacement part.

Clunking noise from engine
Problem:
A known issue on the Nemo is to hear a clunking noise from the engine when you are taking off or stopping. You may also hear this noise when you are changing gear whilst driving. These issues are symptoms of faulty engine mounts.
Solution:
You will need to remove the engine by hoisting it up in order to access the engine mounts. If they are cracked or broken, you will need to replace the engine mounts to rectify the situation.

Loss of power
Problem:
If you are finding that your vehicle has a loss of power and you are possibly hearing a whistling noise coming from the top of the engine, these are symptoms of a problem with the turbo. The Nemo has known issues with the turbo seal blowing. This can lead to a leak which also results in black smoke coming from the exhaust. The video below shows symptoms of a blown turbo seal:
Solution:
If you replace the turbo seal, this should fix the problem.
