Your windows are letting water into the car.
It’s easy to assume that this is a window seal issue, but the reality is that it’s far more likely to be a window gasket failure. There are multiple reports of the window gasket on the HR-V popping out. You will have to replace the gasket, which can be a time-consuming job to do yourself. However, we always have window gaskets available to order for quick delivery.
If you have noticed that the windscreen washers are not working on your HR-V, the usual cause of this is due to a broken window washer motor.
You will need to fit a replacement window washer motor to fix this problem.
When you have the steering on full lock and you are pulling away and hear a sort of squeaking or groaning noise, you have a problem with the rear differential. Check out the video below to see if this is similar in any way to your rear differential problem:
Fitting a replacement rear differential will help resolve the problem, but can be very costly. We can help you get this part at very low prices.
When you are driving over speed bumps, or rough surfaces and hear a knocking noise around the suspension area, this is usually caused by a faulty drop link on the HR-V.
You will need to fit a replacement drop link to resolve this issue.
It is a known issue for the seat covers to sag, especially on the vehicles built between 1999 – 2000. They are known for sagging really quickly and also for getting snagged easily, causing tears and imperfections.
You will need to replace the seat covers with improved ones, as the material has been improved since this problem.
If you are noticing that the vehicle is juddering when taking off, this vehicle is known for having issues with the gearbox.
The gearbox problem could be caused by a number of things, so have a professional look at the gearbox to correctly identify the exact problem.
Your emission levels are too high, and you have failed an emissions test.
This is nothing more than a software issue, which is reducing the effectiveness of your emissions control system. Head to a Honda dealer and have your software updated.
The button on your gear stick has moved position or may have popped off entirely.
If you still have the button, then you should be able to pop it back into place. Unfortunately, the problem is likely to keep on happening if it’s already happened once. There’s no real fix other than ordering a new gear stick from our parts page and replacing the badly designed one from Honda.
The car is running very roughly and may be shaking excessively when the engine is running.
It’s likely that you have had a fuel pump module installed that has low-density impellers. You can find a new fuel pump in the BreakerYard store, and installation should take less than 10-minutes.
When there is a passenger in the car, the seat belt warning alarm sounds even though the passenger has their seat belt on.
This isn’t that common and should only be a problem if your HR-V was built between August and September 2019. The cause is the webbing sensor, and it will usually only affect the rear centre passenger seat. Unfortunately, this won’t be a simple case of replacing the sensor, and the entire seat belt will need to be removed and replaced. You can find seat belt units on our parts list for the HR-V for quick delivery.
