Hyundai Coupe Common Problems and Solutions
Central locking problem
Problem:
The central locking actuators are prone to failure on the Coupe. You might be hearing a strange noise when locking the car and/or one of the doors is not locking/unlocking. Is the problem in the video below anything like your issue?
Solution:
You need to fit a replacement actuator to sort this issue on the door in question.

ABS warning light
Problem:
The ABS rings are known to split on this car, causing the ABS warning light to appear on the dashboard.
Solution:
You will need to run a diagnostic check to correctly identify which ring has broken. You should carry this repair out asap as this broken ring can lead to the ABS sensor getting damaged. Replacing the broken ABS ring should fix the problem.

Exhaust manifold cracking
Problem:
The exhaust manifold on the Coupe is prone to cracking. If it has cracked, you will hear a loud growling noise coming from the top of the engine. You will hear this better if you open the bonnet and also inspect the manifold for any cracks.
Solution:
If you have a cracked exhaust manifold, you will need to fit a replacement one to resolve the issue. This can be a very expensive part to replace, but we can help you find one at a very low price.

Handbrake problems
Problem:
If you are finding that the handbrake is unable to hold the weight of the car, particularly on a hill, then the rear brake callipers need adjusting. You may also notice that you have to pull the handbrake lever a long way to engage the handbrake.
Solution:
As mentioned above, you will need to adjust the rear brake callipers to sort this issue. On some occasions, new callipers have been needed to sort the problem.
