Hyundai Matrix Common Problems and Solutions
ABS warning light
If the ABS sensor warning light has appeared on the dashboard, it will most likely be caused by a faulty ABS sensor. The sensors are prone to breaking on this vehicle. Sometimes the cause of the sensor breaking can be the ABS ring cracking, which eventually leads to the sensor getting damaged by the broken ring.
You will need to run a diagnostic check to correctly identify exactly which wheel the faulty sensor is on. Once you have identified which sensor it is, you will need to fit a replacement sensor to fix the problem. When you change the sensor, make sure you check the ABS ring to see if it is cracked. If it is, you will need to replace the ring because if you do not, the broken ring will end up damaging the new sensor. The video below will give you an idea how to replace the ABS sensor:
The heater blower motor is known to fail on this vehicle. If this is failing you may be finding that the heater is not working on some, or all of the settings. You could also smell a burning smell when the heater is on.
You will need to fit a replacement blower motor to resolve the issue. We can help you find a replacement heater blower motor at a really good price.
Airbag warning light
If you have noticed that the airbag warning light has appeared on the dashboard, it could be caused by one of two things: The control module is known to fail on this car, or it could be the wiring underneath the seat which can get damaged when moving the seats.
You will need to identify if it the wiring or the control module is causing the problem. If it is the wiring, you will need to fix the wiring to turn off the warning light. If it is the control module at fault, you will need to fit a replacement one to sort the problem.
