About Oil Pressure Sensor Switchs

The Jaguar oil pressure sensor switch is a sensor which works to monitor and measure the oil pressure levels in the oil tank. The oil pressure sensor switch will cause the oil pressure level warning light to illuminate on the dashboard when oil pressure levels are low.

The oil pressure sensor switch is usually located on the side or back of the engine block next to the oil filter, just above the oil tank, near the starter.  The sensor bolts directly onto the engine.

The oil pressure sensor switch will usually have a double wire harness plugged into the sensor, with a connector attaching directly to the sensor. The oil pressure sensor switch should sit tightly secured in place.  The oil pressure sensor switch is part of a range of clever engine sensors that all function to provide the car's ECU (Engine Control Unit) vital information about the engine. This information is used by the ECU to make adjustments to ensure the engine is operating at its optimum.

If the oil pressure sensor switch is faulty the warning light will illuminate on the dashboard indicating that there is a fault. When replacing this part, it is vital that the replacement part is compatible with the car. Specifically designed for the make and model of your vehicle, the Jaguar oil pressure sensor switch is the ideal choice.

Jaguar trivia

  • Transporting a load of Jaguars isn't easy. When being loaded onto trains, every car is driven by a driver that isn't wearing a seatbelt. Those drivers aren't allowed to wear belts, and they even have to get rid of any metal eyelets on their shoes. This is all to prevent the possibility of scratches, and what's more, the drivers aren't even allowed to touch the outside of the cars!
  • The first-ever XK120 rolled off the production line and was delivered immediately to Clark Gable, who had preordered it well in advance. The XK120 came with a removable windscreen and could hit a solid 120mph..
  • Jaguar isn't a big name in F1, but they did have a go. They raced between 2000 and 2004 but didn't perform well enough to justify the costs. They managed a less than stellar ninth place in their final race.
  • The 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most gruelling and famous race events in the world, has been won by Jaguar an astonishing seven times. Their first victory was back in 1951.
  • Jaguar was bought out by Ford in 1990, but they didn't really capitalise on the investment. Eventually, Ford sold Jaguar to the current owners, the Indian company Tata Motors.
