History of Mitsubishi Colt

The Mitsubishi Colt is a subcompact car that was in production between 1962 and 2012. There were a total of three generations made, giving buyers a choice of numerous body types including a hatchback, estate and convertible. Warranty Direct ranked the Colt 30th in its top 100 most reliable cars. This is based on various factors, such as the number of times a car fails, the cost of repairing it and the average time spent off road due to the repairs. Warranty Direct also ranked the Colt 26th in a list of 50 superminis. The Mitsubishi Colt is known for its spacious interior, stylish design and great range of engines. It offers a reliable driving performance and a number of great features as standard, making it popular amongst drivers across Europe.

Five generations of the Mirage-based version alone were made and sold between 1978 and 2002. They were released in 1978, 1983, 1987, 1991 and 1995. Each offered a range of body types and engines, including a powerful 2.0-litre diesel with the last version. Mitsubishi even released a panel van version of the Colt in 1983.
