History of Mitsubishi Cars

Founded in April of 1970, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is an automotive manufacturer with a multinational following. Headquartered in Minato, Japan, the brand was once named as the 16th biggest automaker in production worldwide, cementing its place as one of the top manufacturers in the world. Some notable models include the Shogun, Outlander and Mirage, which are produced in a variety of plants around the world including six in Japan, two in China and individual sites in North America, Venezuela and the Philippines. In 1870, the Tsukumo Shokai Shipping company was formed. In 1917, they produced the first Mitsubishi Model-A vehicle and were considered to be a pioneer for the Japanese passenger car when it came to mass production. Mitsubishi Motors acquired independence from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries which produced trucks and buses. In 2003 it decided to specialize in passenger cars, and now the UK market is flooded with requirements for parts.
