About Sunroof Motors

Many cars now have an electric sunroof that is operated by way of a Nissansunroof motor. This means that the Nissansunroof motor is an integral part of the working of the sunroof and that if it breaks down it will need to be repaired or replaced. However, although repairing a faulty Nissansunroof motor is one option, it may prove to be far more expensive than choosing to buy a replacement.

It is quite easy to find a replacement sunroof motor in the parts department of a vehicle’s dealership or from a motor accessories dealer. It is important to provide accurate information about the make and model of the vehicle to make sure that the part that is purchased is the correct one.

Once the part has been acquired, fitting is a relatively straightforward procedure. It involves the removal of the interior light to allow access to the vehicle’s overhead console, which houses the sunroof motor. Once the overhead console has been removed it is simply a case of removing the damaged motor by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place and disconnecting the wiring. The replacement Nissansunroof motor can then be fitted, using the same connections and the same retaining screws.

Nissan trivia

  • Most people think of the Skyline when they think of the Nissan, but the car featured in the Fast and the Furious franchise wasn't actually designed or built by Nissan. Instead, it was built by a car company called Prince, which Nissan merged with in 1966. The name Prince was phased out, and the Nissan Skyline was born.
  • Since 2018, Nissan has become the largest manufacturer of electric vehicles in the world. They have so far produced as many as 320,000 electric cars.
  • Talk about a long drive, in 1964, the Nissan Cedric drove all the way from Greece to Japan as part of the Tokyo Olympics!
  • The Nissan Patrol is a powerhouse of a vehicle, and currently holds the world record for a production car pulling an aircraft. The SUV wasn’t allowed any modifications to tackle this impressive feat, and managed to pull the 170-tonne plane a massive 50 metres.
  • The Nissan Patrol SUV is also in the record books, holding the title of the Largest Synchronised Car Dance. In 2018, 180 Patrol SUVs performed the vehicular dance in Dubai.
