About Cowl Top Panels

Certain  car  parts  exist  to  protect  the  vehicle  against  damage  from  external  sources.  An  important component  to  protect  the  engine  and  other  mechanical  parts  under  the  bonnet  is  the  Renault  cowl  top  panel.  Items  of  debris  such  as leaves,  dirt  and  twigs  can cause  considerable  damage  to  these  expensive  parts  and  the  cowl  top  panel  provides  an  invaluable  shield.

The    Renault  cowl  top  panel  is  situated  at  the  base  of  the  windscreen,  close  to  where  the  windscreen  wipers  are  attached  to  the  car.  It  is  generally  made  from  plastic  and  has  grilles  to  permit  ventilation  but  keep  unwanted  debris  out.

If  a   Renault  cowl  top  panel  is  damaged  it  loses  its  effectiveness  as  a  shield  and  will  need  to  be  replaced.  Fortunately,  most  motor  accessory  dealers  stock  replacement  cowl  top panels  for  all popular models of motor vehicle.

A  replacement   Renault  cowl  top  panel  is  an  inexpensive  accessory  which  is  also  easy to  fit.  In  light  of  the  significant  damage  that  can  be  done  to  the  important  equipment  that  is  housed  beneath  the  bonnet  of  a  car  through  having  a  defective    Renault  cowl  top  panel,  it  is sensible  to  keep  a  check  on  its  condition  and,  in  the  event  of  any  problem,  to  immediately  seek  a replacement part.

Renault trivia

  • Renault has more models of electric cars than any other manufacturer, with the Twizy, Kangoo, and Fluence their most popular electric-powered vehicles.
  • The Royal family have always enjoyed a Renault, but the first royal sale was in 1905 when King Edward VII bagged himself a Landaulette. Our current monarch didn’t pay for one; however, they did receive a Renault Dauphine as a gift in 1957.
  • The Renault seen in Indian Jones and the Last Crusade went up for auction in 2017. The car was seen in the exciting finale where Harrison Ford races on horseback to beat the Nazis to the holy grail. The car was valued at auction at just over £18,000.
  • The fastest Renault ever made is the 1978 Alpine A443. It raced at Le Mans, and even with a less than intimidating 2.1ltr V6 engine it still managed an incredible 236mph.
  • Renault are obviously well known for their motorsport successes, but did you know that their early, groundbreaking work on car body mathematical curve modelling was one of the starting points for today’s computer graphics?
