About Engine Mounts
Engine mounts function as a secure base upon which to mount or fix the engine as well as acting as a shock absorber, helping to dampen and smooth out vibrations and noise from the engine and road.
Usually manufactured from rubber or steel, the engine mount can be found under the bonnet of the car. There are usually several engine and transmission mounts, which serve to support the engine and transmission system as a whole.
The SEAT engine mount helps to produce a smoother and quieter driving experience, helping to keep the engine aligned correctly and firmly secured.
Indications that the engine mount may need replacing are an obvious movement of the engine and transmission; vibrations when accelerating or driving uphill, clunking and bumping noises from the engine area; and a loud noise when changing gears. When replacing the engine mount, it is crucial you get a component that's compatible with the car you drive. The SEAT engine mount is the ideal replacement part, specifically designed for the make and model of your vehicle.
SEAT trivia
- Colombian singer Shakira had a customised SEAT in 2007. She eventually sold the car, which was essentially just a Leon Cupra with a modified body, and gave the proceeds to charity.
- The SEAT Ibiza was designed by the same man who designed the Mark 1 VW Golf, the Lotus Esprit, and the DeLorean DMC-12. Giorgetto Giugiaro is well worth a Google.
- SEAT exports as much as a whopping 80% of its cars every year.
- 2019 was the best year of sales for SEAT when it sold an impressive 574,100 cars.
- The first production car for SEAT was the 1400 Saloon. It was a success even before it started rolling out, with 10,000 pre-orders. At the time, it cost over 121,000 pesetas, which is around £35k today. The facilities that SEAT had back then could only make five cars a day.
