About Door

Corolla Toyota car doors are used by the driver and passengers, sitting in the front or back seats, to enter and exit the car.
A standard car door usually opens outwards and is normally mounted to the frame of the car with hinges which are fixed to the car with either bolts or pins. Corolla Toyota car doors are fitted with a section of glass, which makes up the car window.

Most manufacturers of modern cars favour aluminium for parts such as car doors, because it is strong, durable and rustproof while being lightweight. Car doors can also be made of steel and strong plastics. The interior of a car door, referred to as the car door card, will usually consist of a strong plastic cover lined with various materials such as leather or vinyl to compliment the rest of the interior design.  In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the car door card houses controls for electric windows and the locking mechanism.

Whether the Corolla Toyota door has been damaged, not working properly, needs replacing due to general wear and tear, or you’re simply renovating your car, it’s important when replacing any door to make sure you purchase a door that is compatible with the make, model, and year of your car.

Toyota Corolla trivia

  • The emblem used on the front and back of the Toyota Corolla was smoothed out so that it became corner-less. This was a safeguard against causing harm to pedestrians in the case of an accident.
  • There’s a persistent myth that renowned designer Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the fourth-generation Toyota Corolla. The fact is that although it bears some similarities to previous Giugiaro designed cars, the Toyota Corolla was 100% designed by Toyota’s own designers.
  • A ‘corolla’ is a ring of petals that are located around the middle part of a flower. However, it also means ‘crown’ in Latin.
  • In a design choice that surprised many, the fourth-generation Toyota Corolla sedan had a glove box without a door. They were just open holes, which were intended to both cut production costs while making it easier to store paperwork. This saw an increase in the number of Toyota Corollas bought for company use.
  • The third-generation Toyota Corolla was discontinued and replaced in 1987, but it carried on production in Venezuela right up until 1990.
