About Cowl Top Panels

Certain  car  parts  exist  to  protect  the  vehicle  against  damage  from  external  sources.  An  important component  to  protect  the  engine  and  other  mechanical  parts  under  the  bonnet  is  the  Toyota  cowl  top  panel.  Items  of  debris  such  as leaves,  dirt  and  twigs  can cause  considerable  damage  to  these  expensive  parts  and  the  cowl  top  panel  provides  an  invaluable  shield.

The    Toyota  cowl  top  panel  is  situated  at  the  base  of  the  windscreen,  close  to  where  the  windscreen  wipers  are  attached  to  the  car.  It  is  generally  made  from  plastic  and  has  grilles  to  permit  ventilation  but  keep  unwanted  debris  out.

If  a   Toyota  cowl  top  panel  is  damaged  it  loses  its  effectiveness  as  a  shield  and  will  need  to  be  replaced.  Fortunately,  most  motor  accessory  dealers  stock  replacement  cowl  top panels  for  all popular models of motor vehicle.

A  replacement   Toyota  cowl  top  panel  is  an  inexpensive  accessory  which  is  also  easy to  fit.  In  light  of  the  significant  damage  that  can  be  done  to  the  important  equipment  that  is  housed  beneath  the  bonnet  of  a  car  through  having  a  defective    Toyota  cowl  top  panel,  it  is sensible  to  keep  a  check  on  its  condition  and,  in  the  event  of  any  problem,  to  immediately  seek  a replacement part.

Toyota trivia

  • That founder's name was Toyoda, but the name of the company was changed to Toyota because it took one less stroke to write in Japanese. Eight is a lucky number in Japan, and Toyota takes eight strokes to write, and so Toyota it is!
  • Although Toyota started making its first cars in 1937, these were specifically produced to contribute to Japan's war effort. It wasn't until 1947 that they started producing cars for civilians.
  • They might be one of the biggest and well-known brand names in the world, but Toyota is still very much a family business. Every CEO so far has been a descendant of the original founder.
  • The Toyota Prius is just the latest example of why Toyota is widely considered the greenest company in the car industry. Consistent efforts at improving sustainability and eco-awareness led to them getting voted the number one Global Green Brand back in 2015.
  • As well as the best selling car of all time, Toyota is also responsible for the longest-running production on a car model ever. The Toyota model Land Cruiser started production in 1951, and as of 2019 has sold over 10 million units!
