About Fog Light Switchs
The Volvo fog light switch is situated in the driverside of the vehicle and is attached to the dashboard. It directs the current from the battery to the front fog lights on a vehicle and allows the driver to control the operation of the fog light to turn them on or off.
You may first notice that a Volvo front fog light switch is faulty when trying to use the switch, but the fog lights do not come on. The switch may also feel loose, which may be caused by a faulty mechanism.
If the Volvo fog light switch is faulty you may not be able to turn on your fog lights on your vehicle. This could be potentially hazardous when driving in poor visibility conditions. If the Volvo fog light switch fails whilst the fog lights are switched on you may not be able to turn the fog lights on whilst driving. This could cause premature fog light failure through constant use. This can also cause problems for other road users, who can be temporarily blinded by the bright glare of fog lights if they are used in normal visibility conditions.
Volvo trivia
- Volvo is Swedish and was founded in 1924 by two brothers who designed and built the ÖV 4 because they realised that other cars couldn't cope with Sweden's harsh weather. The car was given the name 'Jakob' and had both a 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine and a three-speed manual gearbox.
- Volvo is a Latin word that means 'I spin,' although some later translations change the meaning slightly to 'I roll.'
- Volvo is one of the oldest companies in the world to be trading on the Stock Exchange. They have been trading consistently since 1935. The majority of car manufacturers didn't even exist when the Stock Exchange opened.
- Volvo cars are renowned for safety, but they also have a good reputation when it comes to comfort as well. Volvo has worked with orthopaedic surgeons to help with seat design.
- The Volvo V40 is considered the safest car ever made and has the highest score to ever been awarded by EuroNCAP.
