Fiat Tempra Common Problems and Solutions
Electrical problems
Problem:
If the fuse box on your Tempra is rusting or water is leaking into it, this can usually lead to electrical problems such as central locking failure, electric window problems amongst other things. The fuse box is located on the drivers side, just above the accelerator pedal.
Solution:
If the fuse box is rusting or leaking water, then you will need to fit a new fuse box to sort the problem.

Braking problem
Problem:
If you have noticed that your brakes are not operating at their fullest, then the brake pipes on this car are known to rust, causing failure with the brakes.
Solution:
The pipes will need to be replaced to resolve this issue.

Suspension failure
Problem:
When you are driving over rough roads or speed bumps and you hear a knocking noise coming from the front suspension, the usual cause of this problem is the front wishbone failing.
Solution:
To fix this problem you will need to replace the front wishbone.

Electric window problems
Problem:
The electric windows are known to go on the Tempra. If you are having trouble opening and closing the windows, this problem is usually caused by a faulty window regulator.
Solution:
You will need to fit a new regulator to fix the problem. Watch the video for an idea on how to replace this part:

Poor digital dashboard display
Problem:
If you have noticed that the digital dashboard display is very poor, then this can happen as the vehicle gets older. This problem is caused by a faulty transistor.
Solution:
The problem can be resolved by having a specialist fit a new transistor. This solution is much cheaper than having a new display fitted.

Problem:
It is common on the Fiat Tempra for the door locks to fail. If you have noticed that the locks are not working as they should, then you will need to replace the locks.
Solution:
As mentioned above, you will need to replace the locks to solve this problem.
