Vibrating when accelerating
Problem:
You may have noticed that there is a heavy vibration when accelerating, particularly when going round corners. This problem is caused by worn CV joints. This problem is mainly on the left CV joint when cornering to the right.
Solution:
If you want to save money, you can swap the left CV joint with the right one, as you will only be getting the vibration when you are using reverse which shouldn't be a major problem. If you want to completely fix the problem you will need to fit a replacement CV joint.

Heavy oil consumption
Problem:
The S2000 is known for using quite alot of engine oil.
Solution:
Make sure you keep a regular check on the oil levels, topping up the oil when needed. It is best to keep the levels at least mid way between the Min and Max lines.

Growling noise from clutch
Problem:
If you have been hearing a growling noise when using the clutch, the usual cause of this problem is with the clutch plate.
Solution:
There was a modification made to the clutch plate design to stop this problem occurring. Fitting this modified clutch plate will now sort the problem.

Oil valve modification
Problem:
There was a modification made to the oil valves on S2000s produced between 1999 and 2001. If this modification was not made, it will have an effect on the reliability and performance of the vehicle.
Solution:
Make sure that this modification was made to the oil valves on your vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
