The new 2014 Peugeot 3008 has had a mid life facelift. The 3008 is a crossover SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) which was introduced in 2009.

The 3008 won car of the year award 2010 in the British magazine What Car? It also won 2010 Semperit Irish car of the year, so what does the 2014 facelifted version have to offer?

To be honest, there is not that much to shout home about apart from the lower prices, which is always a draw for anyone looking for a bargain. There has been some minor styling alterations and there is more equipment available.

To give this vehicle its due, there was a lot going for it that did not really need changed, like the split tailgate and elevated driving position. Like the previous version, it is great to drive, grips to the road and handles well and is a well built vehicle.

As mentioned above, one of the main draws is the price reductions. On some models the price has dropped as much as £650.

The exterior changes are the chrome strips on the front of the vehicle which is standard for all new Peugeot vehicles and the LED details on the lights. The interior design is high quality and the spacious interior is a definite plus. The boot space offers 512 litres which is really good.

The top of the range Allure trim has been the most popular version with prices starting at £22,195. Since the introduction of the 3008 in 2009, there has been over 500,000 Allure versions sold, with over 56,000 of them being sold in the UK.

The 1.6L HDi diesel is one of the best engines available and is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine offers around a combined mpg of 57.6 and 127g/km CO2 emissions.
