The new 2015 Audi S1 is a very powerful little sports hatchback which is based on the Audi A1 supermini car. We have written a full A1 review which you can view by clicking here.

The S1 is hoping to compete with the likes of the new Mini Cooper S. Audi and BMW have been competing for the number 1 spot in the UK for the premium car class, with Audi edging it last year. Now with the introduction of the new S1, Audi will hope to stretch this lead even further.

The new S1 will be available from £24,900 which is rather pricey when compared to the Mini Cooper S, which begins at £19,345.

The S1 has some aggressive looking styling with plenty of body kit. It has the full sized front grille with Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. It comes with a turbocharged 2.0L 228bhp engine which is coupled to the Audi Quattro four wheel drive system.

This very powerful engine coupled with the Quattro system means the car can do 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and it also offers 40.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 162g/km. The engine will be coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The S1 handles very well and is a good ride but there is lack of room in the rear passenger area and the boot space is not too good. Despite this, it is very well built and carries the high Audi badge appeal. Our overall rating would be great car but very costly.
