The latest edition of the Peugeot 308 has been short listed for the 2014 European Car of the year award.
This latest version is a very stylish looking car which is much better looking than any previous versions and not only that, but it also has much better performance. It has a top quality interior design and has impressed with the way Peugeot have laid out the controls in the car.
The original 308 was released n 2008 and there was a facelifted version in 2011. The 308 competes in the small family car class with the likes of the Ford Focus and VW Golf, whom it will compete for the 2014 European Car of the Year. We have written a full 308 review which you can view here.
The winner of the 2014 award will be announced on the 3rd March 2014, the day before the 2014 Geneva Motor Show begins.
Although the 308 may be one of the smallest cars in the small family car sector, you certainly would not think so. The storage space in the boot offers 470 litres which is more than both the Focus and the Golf. It is also a very practical car with its wide opening rear doors and it is fairly spacious inside. The front seats offer the best comfort and there is not much at fault with the new 308.
The new controls layout mentioned above, is known as the 'i-Cockpit' which comes with several great new features including a 9.7” touch screen. This touch screen operates such things as the multimedia, phone and air conditioning plus much more.
I have been well impressed with this new 308 that I would not be surprised at all if this was to go on and win the prestigious 2014 European Car of the Year award.
This car is certainly worth considering if you are after a small family car.
