Have you ever owned a Ford Maverick? If so, did you have to purchase any replacement parts for the vehicle and how did they perform? Let us know about both these experiences by sharing your view in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Ford Maverick Overview

The Ford Maverick is classed as a compact crossover SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and is produced by the European branch of the Ford Motor Company. This vehicle is known as the Ford Escape in all other world markets outside of Europe. Although this is classed as a crossover SUV, Ford wanted to market it as one of their standard SUV. This vehicle was produced as a joint venture with Mazda, and was released in 2000 along with the Mazda Tribute. As this is a crossover SUV it drives more like a car and the later versions are a lot more refined than earlier ones. This vehicle is very spacious and is worth considering if you are looking for a vehicle of this type. What do you think of what’s just been said about the Maverick?

Ford Maverick History

The Ford Maverick was designed on a car platform as Ford realised that most SUV owners didn’t take their vehicles off-road. There was an optional all-wheel drive version for those off-roaders, but the front wheel drive version was most popular. In Europe the Maverick was only sold from 2001-2004 and the lack of a diesel option didn’t help the sales of this vehicle. It was reintroduced in 2005 to try again in some of the European markets, but wasn’t very successful. The production of this vehicle ended in 2006.
