Honda Legend Overview

The Honda Legend is classed as a mid-sized luxury car and is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturers Honda. It has been in production since 1985 to the present day. This vehicle is Honda's flagship vehicle and is the car which the North American flagship vehicle the Acura RL is based on. Acura is the luxury division of Honda for North America. The Legend is great to drive, has great safety features and is built really well. They do lack a bit image and don’t have much rear passenger space for a vehicle of this size. They are well equipped but don’t have a great resale value and cost a lot to run. Does this sound like your experience of this car?

Honda Legend History

The first generation (1985-90) was the first worldwide car to only offer a V6 engine on this car. This car was produced as a joint venture between Rover and Honda to produce Hondas first luxury car and the Rover 800. These cars were built at the Oxford plant for the UK market.

The second generation (1990-95) was only available in the 3.2L engine and built on a new platform.

The third generation (1995-2004) was now only available in 3.5L engine and was again built on a new platform, making it slightly larger than the previous versions. In 1998 there was a mild facelift to the car, with interior and exterior changes.

The fourth generation (2004-present) moved from front wheel drive to 4WD and has a very stylish and modern design. This is the current version on the market.
