MG ZR105 Overview

The MG ZR105 is classed as a ‘hot hatch’ supermini car and is produced by the British automobile manufacturing company MG Rover. The ZR105 is the hot hatch version of the Rover 25 with sportier looking styling and better performance. This also includes such things as sportier suspension and exhaust. They are good looking cars which are good fun to drive. They are cheap to buy but lack comfort and security. They handle well but have poor fuel economy and are known for reliability issues. They do hold there re-sale value pretty well. Does this sound anything like your experience of this car?

MG ZR105 History

This car was in production from 2001 to 2005 and was well received by the general public on its introduction. The MG ZR range was in fact one of the most popular hot hatch cars on the market at this time and was MG Rover’s best selling car in 2004. This car was mostly popular with young drivers for its sporty looks and its cheap prices. The ZR105 was the 1.4L petrol version which had 102bhp with a top speed of 111mph. The other ZR cars in the range were the 120, 160, TD100 and TD115. The ZR105 was the smallest engine and was the entry level car of this range. The ZR ceased production in 2005 when MG Rover collapsed.
