Nissan Cabstar Overview

The Nissan Cabstar is classed as a pickup truck or light commercial vehicle. They are produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturers Nissan. The Renault-Nissan Alliance builds this vehicle for the European market and UD Nissan Diesel for markets elsewhere. This vehicle has also been marketed as the Nissan Atlas and Renault Maxity depending on the market. These vehicles are very useful and come in a variety of different types. Its cab over engine design gives it great manoeuvrability and useful for use in the city. These vehicles fit right in-between vans and large trucks. They are not the greatest to drive but are quite cheap to run for a vehicle of this type. Does this sound like your experience of the Nissan Cabstar?

Nissan Cabstar History

The Nissan Cabstar was first produced in 1982 and the first generation F22 (1982-91) became a very popular truck in the UK due to its reliability and the fact it could carry heavy loads. The UK version was available in 2.0L petrol and its main competitors were the Ford Transit and Bedford CF, whom it was able to compete well with.

The second generation F23 (1991-2007) was the longest standing of any of the generations, but was replaced in 2007 as its design was a bit dated.

The third generation F24 (2007-present) is the current version on the market and is also sold as the Renault Maxity, as they are both produced at the same factory. They both have the Renault 2.5 and 3.0 turbo diesel engines available.
