Nissan Qashqai Overview
The Nissan Qashqai is classed as a compact CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) which is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan. This vehicle has been in production since 2007 and replaced the Nissan Minstral. This is currently the small SUV offered by Nissan and is built on the Nissan P32L platform. The vehicle takes it name from an Iranian nomadic tribe called the Qashqai. It is called the Nissan Dualis in both Australia and Japan. These vehicles have a great driving position, with well refined engines and they are both comfortable and spacious. They are also well priced, handle well, are reliable and have some great safety features. They are well worth considering if you are after this sort of vehicle. Nissan Qashqai History
The Nissan Qashqai was introduced in 2007 and is built in the UK at Nissan's Sunderland plant. This is the first vehicle to be designed by Nissan Design Europe, and is a very popular vehicle across the continent. It is planned that production will move to St Petersburg, Russia in 2014. The Qashqai received a facelift in 2010 which gave it a new front end design as well as changing the lights at the rear. The interior received a minor upgrade. In 2011 the 1.6 diesel replaced the 2.0L, and is the most economical of the current engine range. This is the current version on the market.

The Nissan Qashqai is available in 1.6 or 2.0L petrol and 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0L diesel engines. The 1.5 and 1.6L diesel engines are the most economical, offering up to 62mpg which is really good.
