Have you ever owned a Subaru Forester? Did you have to buy any replacement parts? If so, then we would love to hear about your experience of this vehicle and how the parts performed when fitted. Leave your comments in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Subaru Forester Overview

The Subaru Forester is classed as a crossover SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Subaru, which is part of Fuji Heavy Industries. This vehicle is designed on the same platform as the Subaru Impreza. The first two generations were classed a compact crossover and the next two as a mid-sized crossover SUV. These vehicles are good both on and off road, with plenty of room inside. They come with good safety features but are not the best rides and have poor handling. Does this sound anything like your experience of the Forester?

Subaru Forester History

The first generation (1997-2002) was built on the Impreza platform and was classed as a compact crossover SUV. This vehicle came with AWD (All Wheel Drive) and this system works extremely well with the automatic gearbox.

The second generation (2003-08) was again built on the Impreza platform but with a few design improvements over its predecessor. It had a new 2.5L engine available. The mid-life makeover meant that the safety went from 4 to 5 star rating.

The third generation (2008-13) is larger and wider than the previous versions, making it a mid-sized crossover SUV. This version received a makeover in 2010 which mainly affected the grille design.

The fourth generation (2012-present) is the current version in production and will only available as the 2.0L engine.
