We would like to hear about your experience of the Volvo 940. If you had any replacements parts fitted then let us know how they performed. You can leave your comments in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Volvo 940 Overview

The Volvo 940 is classed as a mid-sized executive car which was produced by the Swedish automobile manufacturing company Volvo Motors. The 940 is part of the Volvo 900 series which replaced the 700 series in 1990. The 900 series was replaced with the S90 and V90 in 1998 and this is the last of the rear wheel drive cars produced by Volvo. The 940 was an extremely well built car which we have come to expect from Volvo cars. They are very spacious in the cabin and for storage space. They are comfortable and will last for years if looked after properly. They might not be the best fun to drive and don’t handle to great. Does this sound like your experience of the Volvo 940?

Volvo 940 History

The Volvo 940 (1990-98) was available in both saloon and estate versions. It was one of the last rear wheel drive cars to be produced by Volvo. It was first of all a replacement for the Volvo 740, and was more like the next generation of this car. There were the same range of engines available and the 940 was an evolution, having an exterior and interior upgrade, modernising the vehicle. The Volvo 940 was eventually replaced in 1998 with the S90 saloon and the V90 estate.
