The Kia K4 concept vehicle was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show this weekend.
There were a lot of people who were left disappointed that it was only the K4 concept which was unveiled because the production version was what people were expecting to be unveiled. The production version was expected to be released later on this year but it is now not expected until the beginning of 2015.
It was the saloon version of the K4 concept which was unveiled and if you were to take away the big wheels and the fancy front grille design, you will basically have what will be the production version.
The new K4 is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Mistra Sedan and will only be available for the Chinese market. It is a mid-sized sedan which will be built in China and is part of a joint venture of Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia.
The K4 will be available with either a 1.8L 146bhp or 2.0L 162bhp engine. The engines will be coupled to either the 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearboxes.
It is not exactly clear yet as to exactly when the production version will be available but as mentioned earlier, it will be near the beginning of 2015.
