The Toyota Yaris is very spacious for a car of this class and are very well equipped for the money. Toyota Yaris History

The first generation (1998-2005) was sold as the Yaris in Europe, the Echo in Australia and the Vitz in Japan. This car replaced the Toyota Starlet and it won the European car of the year in 2000. It scored 4 out of 5 stars in the Euro safety tests. These vehicles used the Toyota WT-i technology and it wasn’t until 2002 that the 1.4 diesel version was available.

The second generation (2005-10) went for a more modern look and this version of the Toyota Yaris received high scores in safety tests around the world, and was the first car of this class to offer up to nine airbags. There was a new range of engines made available and the RS version was released in 2007.

The third generation (2010 - ) has improved such features as aerodynamics and has gone for a sportier look while maintaining its impressive fuel economy. This is the current version on the market.
