The new 2014 Skoda Octavia Scout was officially unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show last month and this is a 4x4 version of the third generation Octavia estate. We have a full Octavia review which you can view by clicking here.

The Scout is built on raised suspension and has a tougher bodywork to help the vehicle perform better off-road. It is expected to be available in the UK in the summer of this year.

The raised suspension means the vehicle is 33mm higher off the ground than the standard Octavia estate. It is available with either a 1.8L TSi petrol or 2.0L TDi diesel engines and comes with 17” alloy wheels as standard.

Dr Frank Welsh is a member of the technical development management team at Skoda Auto and he said this about the new Octavia Scout: “Our new model is a scout in the best sense and offers customers a unique package, comprising a striking off-road look, impressive all-wheel characteristics, plenty of space and modern safety, comfort and engine technologies. The new Octavia Scout sets new standards in the crossover-vehicle segment.”

Like the previous Octavia Scout before it, this version has the plastic cladding which makes the vehicle tougher and helps to avoid any damage when driving off-road. It is a decent looking car which is very spacious inside, particularly the boot storage space.
