The new 2014 Vauxhall Insignia is a facelifted version of the original Insignia which was released in 2008. We have a full Insignia review which you can view by clicking here.
As the original Insignia is not the best looking car in the world, but is a very practical, yet efficient car, it has become very popular as a fleet car and you will see plenty of these around the motorways of the UK.
So what improvements have been made with the facelifted version? Well the answer to this question is quite a few. It now has a better ride quality, more efficient and economical engines, more aerodynamic and a better quality interior design.
The new 2.0L diesel engine is available in either 118bhp or 138bhp and has 99g/km of CO2 emissions which is the best in the large family car class. These emissions are at least 20g/km better than such rivals as the Ford Mondeo and VW Passat and you will get free UK road tax as the emissions are below 100g/km. Both versions of this engine offer 76.3mpg.
It has revised rear suspension to improve the ride quality, a better designed exterior to improve aerodynamics and a high quality interior design which is much improved compared with the cheap looking interior of the original Insignia.
Prices for the 2.0L diesel version are around £19,000. The new Insignia hatchback is the cheapest of the options, beginning at £16,479 and the saloon version begins at £18,104. The Tourer version starts at £18,829.
