Volkswagen have revealed their revised version of the Scirocco. The new facelifted 2015 model comes with a new exterior design, better quality interior and some excellent new engines are available.

The Scirocco was re-released back in 2008, 16 years after the original version ceased production. We have written a full Volkswagen Scirocco review which you can view by clicking here.

This latest version has some neat styling queues, making it distinguishable from the previous model. It is to be first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in early March and the expected entry level model is expected to go on sale in the UK from £20,525. The top model is still the Scirocco R with prices still to be released.

The differences to the exterior design for the 2015 model are as follows: newly styled front and rear bumper and grille designs; newly designed Bi-Xenon headlights and newly shaped LED tail lights; and a new tailgate opening mechanism which is opened via the rear VW badge. There are also several new colours available on this model: red, white and grey; and metallic and violet.

The new engine range will offer better fuel economy and more power than the previous engines. The range will include: 1.4 and 2.0L petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engines. An example of this improved fuel economy is the 177bhp 2.0L petrol which offers around 52mpg and 125g/km CO2 emissions. The 2.0L petrol engine is also available in 217 and 276bhp versions. The 2.0L turbo diesel is available in 148 or 181bhp.

The available gearboxes are 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual clutch which has optional manual or automatic modes.

The improved interior includes a new instrument panel which has been taken from the Golf GTi. This will include new gauges for the turbocharger boost pressure, oil temperature and a stop watch. These gauges were present in the original Scirocco.
