Fiat has revealed their new Panda Cross which is based on the Fiat Panda 4x4. This vehicle will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 but is not expected for release until Autumn 2014.

As the Panda Cross is based on the Panda 4x4, it has all the off road capabilities of this vehicle but with some quality economical engines available and a stylish exterior design.

The new exterior design gives the vehicle a more rugged look with chunky front and rear bumper designs. It has new light cluster and fog light designs and 15 inch alloy wheels to give it a classy look. It also has extended wheel arches and is fitted with roof bars.

The interior design also gives this vehicle a real classy feel. It is fitted with leather trim and is fitted with the likes of Fiat's Blue&Me infotainment system and climate control. There are several available selection assistance options such as Hill Decent Control. This vehicle has the same torque on demand system as the Panda 4x4 which distributes the torque to the front or rear accordingly.

In terms of fuel economy, the Panda Cross is an excellent option for an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle). The two engines available are the 0.9L petrol and 1.3L diesel. The 0.9L is a TwinAir turbocharged engine which offers 89bhp, 107lb ft. of torque, 57.6mpg and 114g/km CO2 emissions. The 1.3L MultiJet Turbodiesel has 79bhp, 140lb ft. of torque and 60mpg fuel economy.

The cost of this vehicle has not yet been officially revealed and it is expected to be a good bit higher than the standard Panda 4x4 which is available at around £14,500.
