Nissan have developed the world's first ever 'self cleaning' car.
New technology developed by Nissan has allowed them to produce a dirt repelling paint. It is not so much a paint, but a coating application, sprayed on top of the paint. This 'self cleaning' paint is currently being tested in the UK and would most likely cost an extra £500 as an optional extra.
It has been tested on the Nissan Note and works exceptionally well. This could mean the end of cleaning your car, which will be music to some peoples ears, but not so for those in the car cleaning business.
Geraldine Ingham is the Chief Marketing Manager for Nissan Note and he had this to say: “The Nissan Note has been carefully engineered to take the stress out of customer driving and Nissan's engineers are constantly thinking of new ways to make families' lives easier. We are committed to addressing everyday problems our customers face and will always consider testing exciting, cutting edge technology like this incredible coating application.”
The Nissan Note already includes self cleaning technology on its rear view camera. The 'wash and blow dry' function means that the camera is always clear and ready for use, but also that the sensors are capable of working in all conditions.
