PSA Peugeot Citroen have announced that they will be introducing a new type of cabin technology from 2016.

This latest technology is called 'Chrysalide Concept' and the production version is expected to make it into Peugeot and Citroen vehicles from 2016. This latest interior technology can alter the environment of the cabin to help combat such things as stress and drowsiness.

PSA Peugeot Citroen have announced the technology as: “a holistic approach to total physical, social and mental well being”.

This technology works by a digital camera on the dashboard analysing the drivers facial expressions to judge exactly how they are feeling. This technology can determine if the driver is feeling irritated, stressed, drowsy or other types of negative emotion and will combat this with the correct sight, sound, smell or touch programs.

This system is customisable and allows the driver to set certain music, fragrances and a particular type of massage through the seats. This new system includes ambient lighting to help provide the right environment for the right situation.

This latest Chrysalide concept technology includes Spatial Sound technology and a new pollution control system. The Spatial Sound technology uses audio signals to enhance the driving experience by sending the appropriate signals to the correct side of the vehicle. The pollution control system helps to purify the cabin air for a cleaner air experience.
