Daewoo Tacuma Overview

The Daewoo Tacuma is classed as a compact MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and is produced by the South Korean automobile manufacturing company GM Daewoo which is a subsidiary of General Motors. This vehicle was in production from 2000 to 2008 and was eventually replaced with the Chevrolet Orlando. The Tacuma is cheaper than most of its rivals in this class but there are only 5 seats which are not what you expect when thinking MPV. There is also no diesel version which is disappointing. It is spacious inside but lacks space in the boot. It is a basic MPV but if it’s something cheap you are after, then consider this. Does this sound anything like your experience of the Daewoo Tacuma?

Daewoo Tacuma History

The Daewoo Tacuma was first produced in 2000 and was based on the Daewoo Nubira J100 which is a compact car. The Tacuma was designed by the Italian designers Pininfarina. The three engines available were 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L, with the 1.8L engine being discontinued in 2005. There was only ever a 7-seater version for the Korean market where this vehicle is known as the Daewoo Rezzo. The Daewoo name has been phased out in most export markets and the Daewoo vehicles were rebranded as Chevrolet using the same model names. The Tacuma was discontinued in 2008 and eventually replaced by the Chevrolet Orlando.
