This version was an evolution of the X300 model and was available in 3.2 and 4.0L petrol engines and had a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

The X350 (2003-07) had a new design and featured an all new all aluminum body making it a lot lighter. The V8 engines on the XJ8 were changed to 3.5 and 4.2L petrol engines and the new 6-speed automatic gearbox which was more economical. The X358 (2007-09) was a face lifted X350 with alterations made to the grille design and other front end parts. 2009 was to be the last year that the XJ8 was produced.
