Jaguar XJ8 Overview

The Jaguar XJ8 is classed as a full-size executive car and is produced by the British automobile manufacturing company Jaguar Cars. The XJ8 is part of the Jaguar XJ series and was first introduced in 1998 as a replacement for both the XJ6 and XJ12, reflecting the fact that the engine was a V8 powered engine. Jaguar XJ8 History

The first version of the Jaguar XJ8 was introduced in 1998 on the X308 model and replaced the previous XJ6 and XJ12 versions. This new XJ8 name was used to refer to the V8 engines used in this vehicle. This version was an evolution of the X300 model and was available in 3.2 and 4.0L petrol engines and had a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

The X350 (2003-07) had a new design and featured an all new all aluminum body making it a lot lighter. The V8 engines on the XJ8 were changed to 3.5 and 4.2L petrol engines and the new 6-speed automatic gearbox which was more economical. The X358 (2007-09) was a face lifted X350 with alterations made to the grille design and other front end parts. 2009 was to be the last year that the XJ8 was produced.
