Nissan Vanette Cargo Overview

The Nissan Vanette Cargo is classed as a small panel van which was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan. This vehicle was in production from 1982 and is currently in its fourth generation. The Cargo version of the Vanette is obviously for cargo only and the passenger version is known as the Vanette. The Vanette Cargo version is also slightly larger than the smaller Vanette. This van is pretty cheap to buy, cheap to run and have a reasonable amount of space overall. The current version has a good driving position, is comfortable with well built cabin and it is well built vehicles. Vanette Cargo History

The first generation (1982-88) of the Vanette Cargo was introduced in 1982 and was slightly wider and longer than the smaller Vanette which was introduced in 1978. The Cargo name was used for export markets, where it was known as the Largo in Japan.

The second generation (1985-94) was an evolution of the previous version with a few minor alterations.

The third generation (1994-99) was based on the Mazda Bongo and was basically a rebadged version of this vehicle.

The fourth generation (1999-present) is also a rebadged Mazda Bongo and is the current version on the market.

Fuel Economy

The Nissan Vanette Cargo has been available with 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 or 2.0 petrol and 2.0 or 2.3L diesel engines. The diesel engines are the most economical, and these vans are pretty good in terms of fuel economy. Which engine did you have and how does it perform economically?
