Renault Mascott Overview

The Renault Mascott is classed as a light commercial vehicle which is produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Renault. The Master has been in production since 1999 and ceased production in 2010. This vehicle was introduced as a heavy duty version of the Renault Master and was based on the second generation Master. The Mascott was available in many different variations and has a very spacious cabin which is also very comfortable. The van versions have a huge amount of room for storage and they are pretty well equipped. They are very reliable vehicles with some good engines available. The performance is not to bad and is worth considering if you are after a heavy duty workhorse van. Does this sound like your experience of this van?

Renault Mascott History

The Renault Mascott was introduced in 1999 as a larger and sturdier version to the Renault Master. The second generation of the Master was introduced in 1997 and Renault decided they needed a heavier duty vehicle slightly larger than the Master, so they released the Mascott. That meant that this vehicle slotted in between the Master and the larger Renault Midlum. At the end of the second generation Master, it was decided not to continue with the Mascott and production ceased in 2010. It was now starting to fall behind some competitors in regards to age etc.

Fuel Economy

The Renault Mascott was available in 2.8L and 3.0L diesel engines. These engines are pretty good economically, despite the fact they are pulling round such a heavy vehicle and possible load. Which engine do you have and how does it perform economically? Always take into consideration the age, engine size and fuel type when considering fuel economy.
