BMW 328i Overview

The BMW 328i is classed as a compact executive car which is produced by the German automobile manufacturing company BMW. The 328i is part of the BMW 3-series and was introduced in the third generation of the 3-series in 1996. This 328i version of the 3-series was in production until 2000, which was mid way through the fourth generation model. There is still a 328i available on the North American market. These vehicles are very stylish and they are the top of the class for compact executive cars. They are great to drive with a very luxurious feel but can be very expensive to buy. BMW 328i History

The third generation (1990-99) was a totally new design compared with the previous two versions. It gave the 3-series a new style and was hugely successful in all world markets. This new design radically changed the look and feel of the car and was to be a significant factor in the success of the 3-series over the next few generations. The 328i was introduced in 1996 for the first time when the 2.8L engine replaced the 325i, 2.5L engine.

The fourth generation (1998-2006) carried on the success of the previous version, in fact being even more successful, pushing on from the enormous popularity of the 3-series range. The 328i ceased production in 2000 when it was replaced with the 330, 3.0L engine, although the 328i was still used in North America.
