Nissan Cefiro Overview

The Nissan Cefiro is classed as a mid-sized sedan which was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan. This vehicle was in production from 1988 to 2003 and was produced over four different generations. The Cefiro was designed as a replacement for the Nissan Bluebird and the second and third generations were sold as the Nissan Maxima. These vehicles are pretty large vehicles which have plenty space and are a good ride with plenty of comfort. They are not too bad looking, are well built and fairly reliable. They are not the greatest in terms of performance but for the size of engines they were reasonable on fuel consumption. Does this sound like your experience of this car?

Nissan Cefiro History

The first generation (1988-94) was introduced in 1988 and shared many components with the Nissan Skyline. There was a facelifted version introduced in 1990, which was curvier looking. The second generation (1994-98) was a larger vehicle and was focused on the executive class. This version was sold as the Nissan Maxima in Europe.

The third generation (1998-2003) was again marketed as the Maxima in Europe and would be the last version of this car to be sold in many markets worldwide. The fourth generation (2003-08) was only available in a few selected export markets including South America and parts of Asia. The name was finally discontinued in 2008.
