Renault Modus Overview

The Renault Modus is classed as a mini MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and was produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Renault. This vehicle was in production from 2004 to 2012 and is set to be replaced by the Renault R-Space. The Modus is based on the Renault Clio, as it shares the same platform of the Clio of this time. The only real difference is that the Modus is taller and offers a more spacious ride, similar to the Renault Scenic but a smaller, more compact vehicle. These vehicles are comfortable and spacious in the cabin but the boot is pretty small. They are also well equipped, practical and really good economically. The handling is poor and they don't hold their resale value very well. Does this sound like your experience of this vehicle?

Renault Modus History

The Renault Modus was first introduced in 2004 and was built at Renault's factory in Valladolid, Spain. These vehicles are quite practical and came with some innovative design features such as the 'triptic system' where the rear seats can be altered to seat 3 small people or 2 large people. The phase 2 Modus was released in 2007 with the only real changes being some minor exterior changes and new interior design. In 2008 the Modus was restyled, and a Grand Modus was introduced which was a larger version of the vehicle. The Modus scored high on the Euro safety tests, a maximum 5 stars. The Modus was discontinued in 2012 and is to be replaced by the Renault R-Space.
