Saab 9000 Overview

The Saab 9000 is in the executive car class and was produced by the Swedish car manufacturing company Saab Automobile from 1984-97. This car was eventually replaced by the Saab 9-5. This car was designed on the same type four platform as the Fiat Croma and Lancia Thema, and it was designed in conjunction with Italian car manufacturers Fiat Automobiles. These cars are affordable for their class, are well built, they can be expensive to replace parts but the durability of these means they last a long time.

Saab 9000 History

The Saab 9000 was first released in 1984 as what is known as a liftback, more commonly known as a fastback in the UK. A sedan version called the 9000 CD was released in 1988 which led to a new designed front-end, and a new fastback version called the 9000 CS in 1991 which followed with this new front end design. The first fastback version was then remodelled as the 9000 CC and was sold as an entry level model alongside the newer versions.

In 1993 there was a more powerful version released called the 9000 Aero which had the 2.3L engine and was the most powerful Saab on the road at that time. There was a limited edition version called the Carlsson which was a turbocharged version. The last of these cars to be produced was in 1997, when this car ceased production and was replaced with the Saab 9-5.
