Skoda Superb Overview

The Skoda Superb is classed as a large family car which is produced by the Czech automobile manufacturing company Skoda. This is Skoda’s flagship car, making it the most luxurious model in the Skoda range. It is more like a compact executive car than a large family car. This is car is extremely spacious in the cabin and the boot. It has excellent safety features and is very well built. They are great to drive, well priced and very reliable. Skoda Superb History

The first generation (2001-08) Superb was a rebadged Volkswagen Passat. This car was manufactured after the Volkswagen group took over Skoda. This car was designed for the European market. In 2006 this car had a makeover, introducing the new Skoda grille, headlights and other exterior parts. There were also some interior changes made to the vehicle.

The second generation (2008-present) is designed on the Volkswagen B6 PQ46 platform and is almost a stretched version of the Skoda Octavia. The new Superb had a new range of engines available and an estate version was introduced in 2009. This is the current version on the market.

The Skoda Superb has been available in several different engines. The petrol engines are 1.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.8 and 3.6L, with 1.6, 1.9, 2.0 and 2.5L diesel versions.
